Timberlane math teacher arrested on misdemeanor sexual assault in New Hampshire.

Plaistow police arrested a Timberlane teacher, David Russell on two counts of simple assault and one count of sexual assault against a student. “The lengthy investigation was conducted by detectives at the department after receiving complaints from a juvenile at the school,” stated a police officer, but parents have been complaining about the teacher too.

Katie Seidl who expressed relief when she found out that Russell had been arrested says that she met other parents and that she met with school officials a little more than a week ago because she was concerned about inappropriate contact between David Russell and her daughter. Other parents also had concerns about similar incidents that happened with their own children. Still, other parents felt left out because they had not been notified of what was happening in the school around their children.

David Russell has been certified to teach math and physical education in New Hampshire since 2019. He was previously licensed in Massachusetts. Brian Cochrane, the school’s superintendent says that the school notified parents on November 18th and instructed them to contact the Plaistow police department with any concerns

Apparently sexually assaulting minors even if a person is a teacher or someone that a child should be able to trust is only a misdemeanor in New Hampshire. David Russel is home on personal recognizance and faces up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
