As reported earlier, Durham’s case against Michael Sussman may not succeed. It did not. Michael Sussman, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign lawyer was found not guilty of lying to the FBI.

“The Russia-Trump collusion narrative of 2016 and beyond was a dirty trick for the ages, and now we know it came from the top—candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. That was the testimony Friday by 2016 Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook in federal court, and while this news is hardly a surprise, it’s still bracing to find her fingerprints on the political weapon,” reported WSJ.

Michael Sussman, a former federal prosecutor goes on trial for lying to the FBI. Indictments say that he lied on behalf of Tech Executive-1, Rodney Joffe, and the Clinton Campaign. The indictment states that Sussmann told the FBI’s general counsel, James Baker, that he was not representing any client, but in reality, Sussmann was representing both Hillary Clinton and a cyber expert that wanted to work for the Clinton’s.

The cyber expert known as Tech-1 lied to Baker when he said that Alfa Bank was the conduit for Trump-Kremlin communications and that its servers transmitted messages to and from a server at Trump Tower in Manhattan. The indictment claims that Tech Executive 1 and his associates exploited this arrangement by mining the EOP’s DNS traffic and other data to gather derogatory information about Donald Trump.

Durham argues that Sussmann was part of a “joint venture” to help Hillary Clinton during her presidential campaign. “The evidence will show that as a result of these conversations and during this same time period, Tech Executive-1 did exactly that: he tasked employees from multiple Internet companies and a university working under a pending national security contract to mine and gather vast amounts of internet metadata in order to support an ‘inference’ and ‘narrative’ tying” Trump to Russia, Durham said.
