The Oklahoma Girl Scout murders happened in 1977 at Camp Scott in Mayes County, Oklahoma where three Girl Scouts were found murdered. The camp’s director said that she found a note a couple of months before the girls were raped and killed. The note, she said read, “We are on a mission to kill three girls in tent one”. Unfortunately, she thought the note was a prank and didn’t think anything of it until after the girls were found.

Keeper of the Ashes is a new documentary about the Oklahoma Girl Scout murders coming out on Hulu on May 24th.  The documentary is set to explore the mystery still surrounding the case and how investigators are using state-of-the-art technology to reopen the case and find the girl’s killers.

Tony Award-winning actor and singer, Kristin Chenoweth opens up about her experience growing up in the area and how she missed being at the camp that summer with the other girls.
